Payout claim vs verification

VerificationSelf-reportedSelf-reported does not mean the figure is wrong. It means no independent record exists to check it against, settlement by settlement.
Claimed€29M+as of2026-04-28Paid to traders "over the past year", with a stated 99.9% approval rate.
Independently checkableNothing checkable
RailMixedFinance Magnates, which carried the figure, stated plainly that the approval rate "has not been independently verified". Fintokei’s own /payouts page is built to display "Cumulative payouts 2025" and "Average payout approval speed", but renders $0 and 0 sec. on the check date, so the site itself substantiates neither. The homepage does publish an average payout of $3,881, a highest payout of $129,032 and an average payout time of 3h 4m. Payouts run by bank transfer, including JPY to Japanese accounts, with a crypto option; nothing settles on a rail a third party can read, and Fintokei is not among the firms Payout Junction tracks.

What FinTokei is

FinTokei is a Japan-focused proprietary trading firm launched in 2023. The operator is registered in Prague, but the entire customer-facing layer — site, support chat, terms, onboarding — is built in Japanese. That is unusual in an industry where almost every major firm defaults to English and treats Japanese support as an afterthought.

The flagship product is a two-phase evaluation of the kind that has become the industry standard: pay an entry fee, clear a Challenge phase, clear a Verification phase, then run a simulated funded account with profit splits. Fintokei also sells a one-phase and a three-phase track, so “two-phase” describes the flagship rather than the whole catalogue.

How we scored it (reassessed 1 August 2026)

Fintokei’s Trustpilot score is 4.5 out of 5 across 1,222 reviews — 79% five-star, 7% one-star, with no guideline-breach notice (read 2026-07-31). The review count is small next to its peers because the customer base is concentrated in Japan.

On 1 August 2026 we re-ran Fintokei through the same procedure we apply to every firm here and cut the star rating from 4.0 to 3.0. Trust level stays Medium. Fintokei is a partner we earn affiliate commission from; the weights come from our methodology and were applied unchanged.

Axis (weight)ScoreBasis
Payout reliability (30)3.4Fintokei covers wire fees, offers an instant route via Walletory, and has no reported pattern of withheld payouts. Against that, crypto costs 2.5% plus a flat fee, SwiftTrader requires +3% profit before each payout, and the track record is short simply because the firm is young
Longevity (25)2.0Three to four years, short of the five-year minimum our High trust level requires
Regulation and transparency (20)3.0No enforcement history, and the corporate disclosure is clearer than the sector average. Against that, the fee-return claim contradicts itself on the checkout path, and the platform operator is a Seychelles entity that our country field does not reflect
Terms (15)3.0A JPY 9,800 entry, JPY-denominated accounts and a 1/2/3-step choice are competitive. Against that, SwiftTrader is tight at -2%/-3% with a 60-day cap, and the advertised fee return cannot be confirmed
Third-party reputation (10)4.5Trustpilot score

(3.4×30 + 2.0×25 + 3.0×20 + 3.0×15 + 4.5×10) ÷ 100 = 3.02, so the star rating is 3.0.

The previous 4.0 was not carrying the longevity weighting honestly — that axis is worth 25 points, and a firm three to four years old cannot score well on it. Trust level remains Medium because our methodology grants Medium where the operating record is short but no significant payment or terms-transparency problem has been confirmed. We found no dated reports of withheld or delayed payouts at Fintokei.

On the founding year

We have recorded Fintokei’s founding as 2023. Fintokei’s own company-history page dates the launch of the Fintokei prop firm to 2022, with the two-step evaluation programme and the Japan-market entry following in 2023. Either way, the operating history is three to four years. The contracting entity is Fintokei a.s., Masarykova 409/26, Brno, Czech Republic, listed in the Commercial Register held by the Regional Court in Brno.

Why it matters for Japanese traders

For Japanese traders who previously avoided overseas prop firms because of the language barrier, FinTokei is currently one of the most accessible doors into the segment. The localisation goes deeper than translation:

  • Site and chat support in Japanese, including KYC (identity verification) guidance.
  • JPY-conscious presentation of profits, losses, and account metrics in formats familiar to Japanese retail traders.
  • Account currency in JPY, with USD, EUR and CZK also available.

By contrast, using FTMO in Japanese has historically meant relying on community translations and unofficial guides.

The plans

Checked on Fintokei’s own plan pages, 2026-07-31. The Japanese site prices a yen ladder and the global site prices a dollar ladder; the account sizes differ, so these are parallel product lines rather than currency conversions of one another.

ProTrader / チャレンジプラン (2-step) — the flagship. Targets 8% in Phase 1 and 6% in Phase 2, with a -5% daily loss limit, a -10% overall loss limit, and a -3% cap on risk carried in open trades. Minimum 3 trading days, no maximum duration, though you need at least one open or closed trade every 30 days. 80% reward. Leverage up to 1:100 on FX, gold and silver, 1:50 on indices, 1:20 on the rest. $49 / $99 / $159 / $329 / $549 / $1,249 / $2,599 for $5K through $400K; JPY 12,500 to JPY 309,800 for JPY 1M through JPY 50M.

SwiftTrader / 速攻プロプラン (1-step) — a single 6% target, not the 10% figure that circulates on aggregators. -2% daily loss, -3% overall loss, minimum 3 and maximum 60 days. 90% reward, shown as 100% on the top Diamond tier, and you need at least +3% profit to request a payout. $44 / $89 / $144 / $299 / $499 / $1,099; JPY 9,800 upward on the JP site, which is the cheapest door into the firm.

StartTrader / 入門プラン (3-step) — 2%, then 3%, then 6%. -3% daily loss, -6% overall, minimum 3 and maximum 180 days per step, 1:25 on FX, gold and silver, 1:20 on indices, 1:10 on the rest. Reward stated as 50–100% depending on trading consistency. $44 / $119 / $244 / $419.

ProTrader also has Swing (1:25 leverage) and Slim (tighter spreads) variants. Always confirm current numbers on the official site before purchasing.

Payouts

The minimum is EUR 100 / USD 100 / CZK 2,000 / JPY 20,000. You can request a payout once 14 days have passed since your first trade or your last processed payout, which works out to a roughly bi-weekly cycle. Fintokei states it covers wire-transfer fees, but crypto withdrawals carry a commission: 2.5% plus EUR 10 for ETH and USDT, 2.5% plus EUR 20 for BTC and USDC, 2.5% for other coins. An instant-payout route through Walletory settles in seconds.

Whether the plan fee comes back is unconfirmed

Every plan page still carries the footnote 初期費用の返還 ※スケーリング道場の適用により — the initial fee is returned, subject to the Scaling Dojo. But Fintokei’s own Scaling FAQ says that programme was fully retired on 21 January 2026 and replaced by a Capital Scaling Boost worth up to 25% more trading capital. And the Loyalty Program announcement on Fintokei’s blog says the pro-contract-fee return — the plan price handed back with your first reward — was extended only to 30 June 2026, after which the benefit becomes one free plan per rank-up.

Those three pages do not agree, and as of 2026-07-31 we could not find a Fintokei page confirming the fee return is still open. We are not picking a winner: treat it as something to confirm at checkout and with Fintokei support, not as a benefit you can count on.

The platforms are run by a Seychelles entity

Fintokei’s support FAQ on where to download the trading platform sends you to purple-trading.sc. The same article names the operator: AXSE Brokerage Ltd., a Seychelles limited liability company, number 8424258-1, registered at Suite 3, Global Village, Jivan’s Complex, Mont Fleuri, Mahé, Seychelles, which “operates trading platforms and provides technical infrastructure for Fintokei.”

So the company you contract with is Czech, but the environment your orders actually run in is provided from the Seychelles. Our country field shows only the Czech side, and that is worth knowing: Seychelles sits outside the EU regulatory perimeter, so the practical remedies available if something goes wrong are narrower than the Czech registration alone suggests.

One smaller inconsistency in the same area: the plan pages list MetaTrader 5, cTrader and TradingView, while the support FAQ on available platforms lists those three plus MT4. Confirm your intended platform is covered before buying.

Who FinTokei fits

FinTokei is a strong fit for:

  • Japanese-speaking traders who want a real prop-firm pipeline without the English-language barrier.
  • Traders who value clean local-language support over the absolute longest track record.
  • Anyone who wants to compare 1-step, 2-step and 3-step evaluations in Japanese before committing.

Who FinTokei does not fit

Traders who specifically want a firm with a 5-plus-year track record should look at FTMO instead. FinTokei has three to four years behind it, which is real progress, but it has not yet crossed the multi-cycle baseline the incumbents have.

Non-Japanese-speaking traders also gain little from FinTokei specifically — the localisation is the differentiator, and English-speakers can get the same product economics directly from FTMO.

What to watch

Short operating history

At three to four years, FinTokei is well short of the five-year minimum our High trust level requires. That axis carries 25 of the 100 points, and it is the single biggest reason the rating sits at 3.0.

Rule cadence

As with any growing firm, profit split, max loss, and instrument lists may change — the scaling programme was replaced by the Loyalty Program in January 2026. The figures on this page were read from Fintokei’s own pages on 2026-07-31. Always verify the live terms before purchasing.

Tax treatment varies by jurisdiction. Japan residents receiving profit shares from FinTokei should consult a local tax professional. See our Japan tax guide for context.

How FinTokei compares

Against FTMO, the trade-off is operating record (FTMO since 2015) versus localisation (FinTokei in Japanese end-to-end). For Japanese traders specifically, FinTokei wins on day-to-day usability. For pure trust metrics, FTMO is still ahead. Against newer UAE-based firms like FundingPips, FinTokei’s $44 entry is competitive, though its cheapest tiers are smaller accounts.

Our take

For Japanese-speaking traders who want to avoid the English-language barrier of FTMO and other incumbents, FinTokei remains one of the few options that works end to end in their own language. We found no dated reports of withheld or delayed payouts, which is why the trust level stays Medium.

We did cut the star rating from 4.0 to 3.0 on 1 August 2026. The main reason is arithmetic rather than deterioration: the longevity axis carries 25 points and the old 4.0 was not reflecting that. On top of it, we marked down a checkout path that still advertises a fee return no live Fintokei page confirms.

The practical advice is unchanged. Start small, verify the payout end to end before scaling, and before you buy, confirm three things at checkout and with support: whether the fee return actually applies, which platform your plan covers, and that you are comfortable contracting with a Czech company whose trading infrastructure is operated from the Seychelles.
